Do people misjudge you based on your looks? Do they run screaming from you, or hide their children in your presence? Are you actually a total gosh darn flarpin saint? Let 'em know you mean no harm with "Sweet Lil' Devil", a pin that says "just because I'm a bit evil doesn't mean I can't be plain ol' nice!"

The portrayal of devils or Satan as innocent or as a character to sympathize with is a relatively new phenomenon in human culture. There are plenty of people who argue that argue sympathetic versions of the devil exist in some historical literary and playwright works, but any sympathy given is typically a ruse to ultimately drive home that the devil is the ultimate bad guy. We are typically meant to realize we are, ourselves, fallen for sympathizing with the incarnation of evil.

Though the Age of Enlightenment certainly added complexity to the subjects of good and evil in religion, it seems a push for truly positive ideation of Satan came about in the second half of the 20th century. I personally believe the growth of secularism as an accepted practice in society, alongside growing distrust in authority by modern human rights and anti-war activists lead the way for people to explore more freely their suspicions that religious portrayals of the devil may not be fair. But I'm sure there's some well-read historian out there who could tell me better - if you're that historian do please email me - check the faq for details.
