The Greaser style of the American 1950s-60s is one of my favorite looks of the modern American era. There's something about the whole take on dress and appearance just really suites me. Lovecraft was a big part of my formative young adult reading years, and I have always thought about how wicked it would be to mash the two worlds together.

Hence, Cool-thulhu. My godfather was a tinkerer and handyman. He regularly took product for work when people needed it, in one case personally restoring a 4-door '57 Chevy with original parts. I spent every other weekend with my godparents when I was quite young, and my early formative summer memories include cruises listening to era music through the era radio. It's all very baked into my memory. I went to a lot of classic car shows, and though I know little about mechanics I have a tremendous love for the cars of the 50s and early 60s, and all the subsequent culture that goes along with it.

I guess it's the jamming together of those two very formative ideas that caused me to put together Cool-thulhu.
