I made Awesome Opossum because Opossum are AWESOME! They are amazing animals that deserve their own space and our respect. I was especially inspired by a tiny runt opossum that lived on my property for a few years. Every time it came out I remember looking at this itty bitty little thing and thinking it was so very brave to go out into the world every single night. And it did, and it really was not scared of anything.

They really are one of my favorite animals of all-time. We had an albino opossum that lived in the woods where I grew up. There were many interesting wild animals in the rural pacific northwest, and having no neighbors for 11 wooded acres in any direction gave me ample opportunity to see them. Still, there was something about seeing a mom opossum carrying a ton of babies that always made me happy. It was always a cool experience.
