Under The Watchful Eye is part of a series known as “The Department of Psychological Operations”, an end-to-end production of my own creation. The intent was to create designs in the style of PSYOPS morale patches, but with countercultural messages of individuality and freedom of thought.
”Under The Watchful Eye” deals with the inherent flaws and damaging effects of authoritarianism and surveillance culture in America, but also humanity at large. Surveillance culture is programmed at a young age and is harmful to both personal development and cultural progress. When self-actualization is replaced with authoritarianism, it robs people of the opportunity to grow, individual, and make moral choices for the fact that if feels good to do so. This leads to stagnation at personal and cultural levels as innovation is replaced by totalitarian conformity.
