The Chaos Cultivator is a character inspired by the Great Old Ones of HP Lovecraft’s myth. The Chaos Cultivator is a mountain-sized malevolent transdimensional entity trapped in a tomb that exists in an alternate dimension. It can only escape when constellations from across several galaxies fall into a specific alignment and if, during that period, specific rituals are performed. The Chaos Cultivator does not keep a specific shape. Rather, it escapes as a field of energy, attaching to the first sentient being it comes across and manifesting itself in whatever form that being associates with chaos, disorder, calamity, and insanity. Those who come into contact with the entity are often left mentally damaged, or simply have no real recollection of the event.
When The Chaos Cultivator escapes it unleashes a vicious beating of extreme mayhem that can be felt universe-wide. Unfortunately, once unleashed the only thing to be done is simply let the process run its course. When the constellations slip back out of alignment The Chaos Cultivator is relegated back to its tomb until the next opportunity comes along in some distant aeon.
